We’ve seen Auckland’s ferocious cafe scene whittled down to a Top 50, or even Top 10, with factors such as a delicious, sophisticated menu paired with excellent coffee make all the difference.
But what about the best cafes for our littlest critics? Sometimes the slightly more fancy, city-slicker places just aren’t the best spots to bring the kids (who, let’s face it, don’t always appreciate finer flavours).
We’ve come up with some of our favourite spots that, in our humble opinion, serve the best hot chocolates in town.
Kid-friendly, with the roastery right next to you, Atomic coffee is a great cafe
Let’s face it, we’ve had a whole lot more time at home this year to spend time with the family. While lockdown has been hard for everyone, it’s also given us so much time to bond and spend together with the kids. Now we’re back to (mostly) normal with schools open again, and the work commute happening again, we might be missing that family bonding time again!
So we’ve come up with a list of fun, unconventional activities you can do plan to do with the kids at home, to continue what lockdown started: family fun, the way it’s meant to

Ahhhhhhh what should we do with the kids these School Holidays???
How quickly the term finishes and it is school holidays again. If you are anything like me, I leave to the last minute, have many activities, holidays programmes saved in my favourites on the LOOP NZ app and then make the call a few days prior.
Sadly that has meant a few times that the kids have missed out of an amazing programme and I’m back to square one.
I decided for you guys…but also for me that I would write the top holiday programmes going on in Auckland these holidays. These
I am so guilty many times in saying, “just go and play and I’ll be with you in a minute” My kids often say “mum can you play this with me?” What’s stopping me? Most of the time, I am trying to finish a conversation with my husband, clean up from what’s just been eaten, prepare for the next day or work while they play.

You have to admit that Easter with kids is quite a different experience. Pre-kids, hubby and I would get each other our favourite chocolate egg and even both parents gave us an Easter egg too. So I guess we were kids until we had kids hehhheeeeehheee.

I loved the idea of one of those fancy new stylish, vintage bikes with a seat on the back for Master 3 but went for a cheap ‘trade me’ purchase. A purple…yes purple mountain bike. Thought I had a great buy at $50 and hey I was just riding around the local streets with the kids.
